
Rick Sadlon is an actively performing professional musician on saxophone, clarinet and flute. He performs jazz, classical and pop music for multiple events each year and provides a high level of musicianship and professional service to assure that your event is a success. He has a rich background of professional performance experience and performed the musical "Cats" for three years at Musical Theater Zurich Orchestra in Zurich, Switzerland, played multiple musicals as a member of the Goodspeed Opera House Orchestra, was lead alto saxophone in the S/S Norway Orchestra, where he performed for acts such as Rita Moreno, Jack Jones, Lionel Hampton, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis, Vic Damone, and Ray Charles.
As an Arts Educator, he was the Director of Music in Darien, CT for 25 years he created and revised the entire K-12 music curriculum three times, established the Darien Young Composers program, developed district-wide common assessments, created a high school and middle school music technology labs, established annual district-wide curricular focus theme initiatives, and built partnerships with area arts organizations to support in-school cultural enrichment programs for all students in the Darien Public Schools.
Rick has recently worked with several districts on music and arts curriculum development including Norwalk, Ridgefield, Easton-Redding Region 9, Waterford, CT and Tuckahoe, NY, and continues to work with school districts throughout CT and NY.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, the University of North Texas and the University of Hartford and continues to maintain an active schedule of performances in the greater CT/RI/NY area as solo performer, with jazz duo Gomez & Sadlon, and for multiple musicals and shows in the region.
